Food allergies and sensitivities often are mistaken for each other, but they're very different things.

Food allergies are immune system responses that are hallmarked by an immediate and potentially severe symptom presentation. Allergies can be life threatening and should be avoided.

Food sensitivities are another immune system response to food reactions that may be chronic and delayed in nature. Sensitivities can often lead to chronic inflammatory health issues, impacting almost any part of the body.

Our test is compatible with two collection methods.

  • The first method involves routine venipuncture using a Serum Separator Tube (SST, gold top) provided by us. This method is recommended for practitioners who are running routine medical analysis and have a phlebotomist available onsite.
  • The second method is via capillary collection (finger-prick), we recommend this method for practices that do not have a phlebotomist available. In both instances we will provide your office with testing kits and supplies containing all materials necessary for sample collection.

Patient pricing varies depending on the test panel ordered. We offer a 50 Food Panel (Pediatric), a Vegetarian 77 Food Panel, and our signature 90 Food Panel. Contact us for more information.

Yes. Food allergies and food sensitivities are different immunological responses. Allergies should continue to be avoided despite whatever comes up on a sensitivity test. Please refer to your physician for any questions regarding allergies or allergen testing.

IgG food sensitivity testing is part of the standard tests ordered by allergists and other physicians working with inflammatory conditions, diseases, and autoimmune classifications. However Biotrinetix does not file insurance, therefore our test is considered out-of-pocket.

Fortunately no. Most patients who follow the recommended elimination timelines are able to reintroduce most, if not all, of the foods they previously were sensitive to, back to their diet.
